IHRDC Vision “To be a
center of excellence and innovation in health research and development aiming at
maximizing population health gain in settings faced with severe resource
constraints.” IHRDC Mission Statement “To develop and sustain a rural district based health research and development resource center capable of generating new knowledge and relevant information, regarding priority problems in health systems at the district, national and international level through research, training and services aiming at better health and community development.” The IHRDC is
committed to adhere to the concept of Essential National Health Research (ENHR)
which aims at achieving equity in health and development and sees itself as a
base for appropriate and relevant research.
The Centre aims at providing affordable solutions for national health
problems, advising resource allocations leading to maximum health gain and
supporting Primary Health Care implementation within the context of a changing
healthcare sector. Objective 1:
To strengthen the management efficiency of the Centre in order to ensure
financial viability. Objective 3:
To evaluate efficacy and effectiveness of interventions against major
causes of morbidity and mortality.
